Ireland - Day 2 - Monastic City, Glendalough, Ireland

Monastic City- Glendalough, Ireland
 Glendalough which means "valley of the two lakes" is located in base of the Wicklow Mountains.  Glendalough is the home of the The Monastic City is absolutely amazing.  St. Kevin built this monastery over, for an idea how old it is, St. Kevin was born in 498 and died in the year 618.  The structures that are standing today were built in the 10th century.  St. Kevin would be considered the Irish - St. Francis due to his love of animals.  His story is very interesting, if you have some time, Google St. Kevin of Glendalough.  I took so many pictures at the Monastic City, it will be hard to pick my favorite!
